A striking, modern Moroccan home that blends with the surrounding arid Atlas Mountains features in #Ideas101 issue on shelf now. Throughout the issue, DECO took a particularly in-depth look into materials — so this red fortress led the way, made of stones sourced from the surrounding mountains and carved on-site.

Showcasing the potential of local materials, Studio KO (the architects who are based in Marrakech) also designed custom-made pieces for the home using local walnut with an infinity pool made from a mixture of cement and resin. Underfloor heating, electrics and flat screen televisions are all cleverly concealed within the structure and décor pieces of the home.

This home is a glorious union of form and function, material and architectural mastery.

A must-see feature of this home: the living room has four oversized pivoting windows that open onto the Atlas Mountain peaks. In our current issue, DECO not only gives you a glimpse of this stunning space but also the best Little Black Book of local contacts to re-create all the elements seen in House Maroc.

Buy your copy of #Ideas101 while it’s still on shelf… this is not one you want to let get away.
