Love to eat and shop? There’s a new one-stop spot that is set to be one of the best culinary and retail experiences Cape Town has to offer.
The Yard is a fresh new concept store-cum eatery located in the hip Silo District, home to African art galleries and other retail spaces, the Yard fits right into the V & A Waterfront’s beautiful cultural landscape. The store and eatery is the result of a collaboration between retail guru Abigail Bisogno and renowned restaurateur, GP Singh, who both share a love of Indian-European cuisine. This fusion of tastes and culture creates a one-of-a-kind dining adventure.
“The inspiration for The Yard came from my wine farm background, and my creation of the Spice Route Destination in Paarl, together with my partner’s experience in the food industry over the last 15 years.”, Bisogno explains.
Local and international tastes will be catered to via a wide array of food choices at the bistro-style restaurant which pays homage to Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Oriental and Indian influences for lunch and dinner. In addition to this diverse menu, there is an open bar and a buffet area for salads and other light meals as well as a deli which fuses food-on-the-go with offerings of smoothies, teas and a coffee roastery. A selection of fine chocolates, preserves, charcuterie, home-made pasta, and farm-fresh cheeses reckons up this feast festival. Complemented by the urban-friendly homeware and accessories section, those who embrace slow living will be happy to know that everything is produced in an ethically sustainable way.
This dynamic culinary gets the fine balance of upscale dining and unwinding just right.
The Yard is scheduled to open on 6 October 2017 from 07h30 to 22h30 every day.
