I took my camera along on my ritual Saturday morning visit to Espresso Lab Microroasters this week. After a restorative sip of the most delicious coffee in Cape Town, I took some snaps of this super-chic specialist coffee roastery in the Old Biscuit Mill.

It’s not called Espresso Lab for no reason: this place treats coffee making as a sensitive science, creating seasonal and specific blends with great precision. The crisp black and white surrounds with slick science lab references underline the sense that coffee is taken seriously around here.

Started just a year ago, and run by a Swedish and Portuguese couple,  Espresso Lab is clearly doing things just right, as noted in a seriously top review and rating on the international Coffeeratings Blog recently.
