Cinema Club | Shnit International Short Film Festival, The Labia Theatre

Cinema Club at First Thursdays will be partnering with Shnit International Short Film Festival for October, ahead of Shnit’s Festival mid-October.

This month will feature the “Best of Shnit – 2017”, curated by the Cape Town Playground team. Showings every hour from 6pm at The Labia Theatre.

Half Tone is a dedicated photographic exhibition and periodical celebrating the work of a select collective of African analogue photographers.

In the spirit of collaboration and self-learning, we celebrate the life and contribution of URS Schmid one of Cape Town most beloved architectural detailers. Through a series of drawings representative of the complete range of the architectural design process his journey reveals the value of true commitment to the architecture product but more importantly the relations between its participants.

Cinderella – Cape Town City Ballet

Following the groundbreaking Mozart and Salieri, Cape Town City Ballet (CTCB) presents the iconic classical ballet, Cinderella.

Performed in three acts, the ballet is set to Prokofiev’s score, played by the Cape Town Philharmonic at select performances (conducted by Brandon Phillips).

#99spring is 99 Juta’s first curated fashion market taking place on the light-filled top floor and is set to run for three days featuring fashion, swimwear, & fragrance.

Live Music by Lesedi Milongo, an African beer tasting and making experience by Sowetan Mirriam Khan accompanied by a group of youngsters showcasing some African dances as well as an Art Exhibition by Wesley Pepper is what one can expect from this vibrant youth hub located in central Braamfontein.

Hydroponics Workshop – An intro to soil-less cultivation at home
