There are various reasons for a business to identify the need to re-rebrand. It could be due to a change of ownership, unsuccessful branding or a current look that is out dated and irrelevant. Lucas Quality Thatchers were in the unique position of not falling into any of the above categories! Their directors who took over 25 years ago are still going strong.

But over the years they were diversified, adapting to the times and soon had a company specialising in high quality building (JNA Projects), one focused on roof structures (JNA Roofing) and property development.  The infrastructure grew tremendously and the need to re-identify and re-establish each company’s role within the group and as specialists in each field; arose.

The challenge came with Lucas Quality Thatchers: a well-established trade name in the thatching industry, but a name merely referring to an individual and completely disregarding the marvellous group of people who have been working very hard to build it into the company it is today. The Lucas Quality Thatchers trade name was also the only one not forming part of the JNA group.

It was at this point that they were challenged with the question, “What to do next?”

The market research indicated that their logo (the silhouette of the two figures throwing bundles of thatch) is well known and recognisable, creating the opportunity to remain true to their identity whilst enjoying the advantages of being part of the JNA Group. And so the process to rebranding started…they simply outgrew their trade name and it was time to buy a new jacket: one that fits!

Here are some of the projects they recently worked on:

Mont Rochelle Manor House

JNA Projects were the main contractors for Sir Richard Branson’s private Manor House in the beautiful Franschhoek.
