Scouting for Africa - selected South African designers

Deco are big supporters of local talent and scouting for Africa. Two South African designers are in the international spotlight at the moment, and have had their designs featured on our pages often.

Both Katherine-Mary Pichulik and Laduma Ngxokolo are selected as finalists in the Vogue Italia ‘Scouting for Africa’ project. Another South African nominee is Dean Pozniak of Simon and Mary hats based in Johannesburg – who we’ve been admiring from afar, looking to feature in our magazine (our Fashion issue most likely!)

Out of hundreds of entrants, Vogue Talents has selected eleven profiles which includes Pichulik Accessories, Maxhosa by Laduma and Simon and Mary of South Africa.¬† Others are based in Ghana, Malawi, Nigeria and Morocco (we’ll showcased these talents soon). Among the eleven designers, one will have the opportunity to present their collections at Palazzo Morando in Milan in September and during the International Fashion Week in Nigeria.
