Taste of Joburg 2015

Calling all Jozi foodies! It’s your turn to whet your appetite for the 2015 Taste of Joburg. The highly anticipated restaurant menus have been announced and they’re utterly delectable. Let the feasting commence!

There’s only one day to go until the fine dining feast that is Taste of Joburg opens its doors to hungry patrons. And this time the menus are set to be utterly delicious!

“This has to be one of the best menus we have ever put up,” says Taste Festivals Director, Justine Drake.


Each participating restaurant dishes up select tasting dishes from specially curated menus prepared by their respective chefs. Some of the Joburg-based restaurants you can look forward to are A la Bouffe, Eatery and Fusion Pantry, amongst many more.

The festival currency takes things up a notch with the Crown to purchase food and drinks. Crowns are worth R5 and can be purchased on the day. 6 Crowns will have you tucking into Wagyu beef sliders, 7 Crowns will get you braised lamb flank, ratatouille and lavender sauce, while the fillet tagliata with zucchini fritti and caramelized potato stack will set you back 8 Crowns.

The food is set to be out of this world with platings to suit every taste. Look forward to the likes of mint cured kingklip, cherry-smoked beef fillet and decadenct desserts like Valrhona dark chocolate mousse.

“Our restaurants have shown why they are some of the best in Joburg and we can’t wait to share these dishes with our visitors!” says Drake.

The Best Dish Award is also back to reward the best voted dish, so keep an eye out for the folks dressed in red so you can cast your vote!
