Once again, the red carpet rolled out for TOPS at SPAR Soweto Wine and Lifestyle Festival, but this time around the Festival took the wine tasting experience to a whole new level! Celebrating its 10th year, the Festival, presented by Joburg Tourism, showcased the best African food, music, fashion and travel.

Visitors were spoilt for choice at the three day event that took place from 4-6 September. Not only did they get to taste over 900 wines, but they also indulged in the world-class cuisines at Gauteng’s ‘Taste of Africa’ Dining Experience where Sowetans could savour food from the finest restaurants of the Maboneng precinct. The charming African décor and the music of Senegalese and Congolese artists playing in the background made the experience even better!

Exhibitors went all out as well. Drostdy-Hof Wines recreated the splendour of the Tulbagh Manor at the Festival and Ushaka Marine world brought the excitement of Durban to Soweto!

The Sansui Summer Cup activation was one our favourites at the Festival. Festival-goers couldn’t miss the towering wooden sculpture of a race horse – an imaginative piece of art that everyone wanted to snap a photo with.

Presented by Joburg Tourism, the 10th TOPS at SPAR Soweto Wine & Lifestyle Festival took place from the 4 – 6 September 2014 at the University of Johannesburg, Soweto Campus.
