Designed by Paul Kovensky, MD of Kove Collection, the intimate whisky bar at UMI only seats 40 people in its plush, comfortable setting. The bar stocks more than 100 varieties of whisky from all over globe, each one with a Jim Murray rating and details about its region of origin. But you won’t just be savouring the world’s best whiskies – UMI is a strong contender for the best sushi in Cape Town, and its modern Japanese food is a step up from the usual burgers-and-beer fare.
