The web magazine’s collaboration with the Swiss design house Vitra is both a statement and showplace summing up their vision of modern living, and also showcases the work of other design studios such as New Tendency, which provided the white Sid & Chad vases.

Completed in early March, the apartment has already been used for commercial shoots, as a showroom for press days, and for dinner among friends and colleagues.

In collaboration with Swiss manufacturer Vitra, Freunde von Freunden (FvF) have opened their first apartment in Berlin. They hope to share their idea of urban living in the age of sustainability.

Building on their frequently-shared styles and experiences with Vitra, the FvF Apartment considers how a creative, mobile and digitally-oriented generation lives. The space has been rebuilt and designed to be fully adaptable to the diverse and often unexpected scenarios of everyday life.

Unable to remove the center wall, architect Etienne Descloux instead created a wood-paneled centerpiece for the apartment.

“Frede, along with architect Etienne Descloux and interior designer Katrin Greiling, created what he describes as a hybrid of Californian and Scandinavian styles.”
